  • Software Engineer (Full-Time)

    • 4D Avionic Systems is a research and development company located in Manhattan, Kansas, bringing innovative software solutions to drone operators. We are looking for a research engineer to join our team full time. The ideal candidate has experience in aviation, especially in the UAS/drone industry, is excited about the opportunity to work for a startup (willing to wear multiple hats), and is able to self-manage through the completion of their tasks. Your responsibilities will be centered on developing and supporting pilot project initiatives and maturing software into a final product. This work will involve participating in prototype technology creation, software testing, and technology development roadmap creation.


    Responsibilities:

    • Work with the team to mature the current codebase to production level software

    • Develop automated software testing workflows in support of software development

    • Debug existing and emerging issues in support of software development

    • Participate in product roadmap development and testing operations


    Qualifications:

    • Required:

      • BS or MS degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent 

      • Highly proficient in C++ and Python programming

      • Familiarity with Object Oriented Design implementation and testing

      • Proficient with SDLC tools (e.g. Git) 

      • Experience in API development

      • Experience with automated software testing

      • Strong oral and written communication skills

      • Located in or willing to relocate to Manhattan, KS

    • Desired:

      • Part 107 Remote Pilot License holder

      • Experience with CI/CD tools

      • Experience developing for Android
