Meet the Team

Dr. J Garth Thompson is the founder and president of 4D Avionic Systems. Dr. Thompson is an Emeritus Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Kansas State University. He has over 54 years of research and teaching at three Tier 1 research universities where he has managed multiple grants and contracts from NSF, NASA, and other sponsoring enterprises.

Joseph Hoskinson has lead the company’s prototype aircraft and autopilot development since 2020. Joe has a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kansas State University.

Gabriel Orndorff has lead the company’s software development of it’s prototype system since 2020. Gabriel has a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kansas State University.

Mason Phillips joined the company as a software development intern in October 2024 and will join the company full-time upon completion of an M.B.A. in May 2025. Mason has a B.S. degree in Computer Science from Kansas State University.
